A Multi‑Faith Litany for Worship and Community Gatherings based on “Sacred Worth, Shared Freedom: A 2026 Multi-Faith Call to Action”
Leader:
We gather in a moment that summons our courage and our clarity —
“a season that calls us to reckon honestly with the present and renew our commitment to a more just and inclusive future.”
People:
We come with open hearts, ready to name truth and to choose justice.
Leader:
We acknowledge the wounds
carried by LGBTIQ+ people in a climate of escalating rhetoric and violence.
We remember trans youth, migrants, asylum seekers,
and all who face compounded harm at the intersections of
racism, ableism, poverty, and xenophobia.
People:
Every person is sacred. Every life is woven with inherent worth and dignity.
Leader:
Truth demands that we name injustice.
Justice requires that we act.
Courage calls us to refuse silence.
People:
We rise together — refusing silence,
choosing solidarity, and committing to liberation.
Leader:
We embrace a moral arc that guides our courage and our commitments —
reclaiming stories of liberation;
defending dignity at the heart of democracy;
embodying joy, resistance, and community;
renewing the promise of freedom for all.”
People:
May this strengthen our resolve and deepen our joy.
Leader:
We remember that queer and trans people have always carried stories of crossing over,
rising up, and breaking open.
We reclaim these sacred stories, affirming that liberation must include
every person, every identity, and every voice.”
People:
May our traditions blossom with truth. May our rituals honor all persons.
May liberation rise in us again.
Leader:
We name the harms of dehumanizing rhetoric, discriminatory laws, and violence,
and we commit to public witness that protects dignity.
People:
We promise to educate, to advocate, to protect, to uplift.
We commit to defend every person’s worth.
We pledge to confront injustice with courage.
We stand together for a democracy where all can flourish.
Leader:
Pride summons us into joy as resistance — a joy that remembers,
a joy that refuses despair, a joy that builds community.
“Pride is not frivolous; it is a declaration of life.”
People:
Let joy be our strength. Let community be our refuge.
Let resistance be rooted in love.
Leader:
As our nation marks 250 years since the Declaration of Independence,
we confront both its promise and its failures.
This anniversary “invites us to both celebrate
and confront our national story,
reimagining liberty through a queer, intersectional lens grounded in truth.”
People:
May truth guide our remembrance. May justice shape our future.
May freedom be shared by all,
For freedom is not complete until it is shared by all.
Leader:
We remember that movements cannot survive on urgency alone.
“Rest is resistance. Healing is holy.”
People:
May rest renew us. May healing restore us. May hope sustain us.
Leader:
This is our charge. This is our sacred work.
“This is the future we are called to build, together.”
People:
Together, we rise. Together, we act.
Together, we build a world where everyone can flourish.
