About Us

Who We Are

The Lavender Interfaith Collective (LInC) is a vibrant and diverse community of LGBTIQ* and allied faith leaders, united across a rich tapestry of religious traditions and spiritual practices.

Our Vision

We envision a world rooted in intersectional justice,

where LGBTIQ*, queer, trans, and nonbinary individuals

live with dignity—free from stigma, discrimination, and inequities.

Our Mission

 Through collaborative efforts,

we aim to empower faith leaders and places of worship to:

  • Celebrate and uplift the inherent worth and dignity of LGBTIQ*, queer, trans, and nonbinary individuals.
  • Boldly engage the struggle for intersectional justice, inclusion, and equity.
  • Actively resist all forces of oppression, discrimination, and injustice, including but not limited to LGBTIQ-phobia, racism and Christian nationalism.
  • Foster and fortify resilience within communities and individuals, nurturing strength, affirmation, and hope.

Our Work

  • World Pride 2025 presence and activities, Washington, DC
  • Transgender Day of Visibility Panel:  Beyond Visibility - The Power of Love in Defending Transgender Lives, April 2, 2025

 * The term LGBTIQ is used as a working shorthand for all the diverse experiences of

sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions and sex characteristics

which make up the myriad beautiful and complex diversity

of humanity across languages, cultures and time.
